Face the music!!!!!....(from the heart)

This regards the volatile relationship I have had with music in my life....well to begin with there was the influence of my dad who loves to listen to reggae and soul.....Hence i was quite familiar in my early school days with the likes of Inner circle,Bob Marley,ub40,Madonna,Braxton,pink,moby, and to a great extent Lionel ritchie.....His music still haunts to a great extent(Hello,All Night Long)....Then there was the choice of the musical instrument i wanted to learn ....I guess i was in the sixth standard...i was split for choice two ways..On one hand there was the keyboard (the electronic version of the piano)...and the guitar which seemed to be quite popular in my friends circle....i went with my instincts (call it what you will ) and enrolled in a keyboard class with Camillus Dmello(an extremely talented musician....be it his singing...God did he sing from the heart...(always used to tell me to do so...however i tried the notes never came from below my throat...)...or his way with the keyboard and the guitar...(his family is completely into music...while Cloyd (a gr8 frnd f mine) is a brilliant keyboard player and is a part of his own gosel rock band, his sis Claire plays the keyboard well 2..)...well as I was saying my liason with the kyboard lasted till 10th std and gained humble proficiency in it....Then iit prep happened and i almost completely lost touch with my keyboard regrettably.....This was about when I was acquainted with metal and rock...Although i love MetallicaIron Maiden,Guns n roses, Dire straits among others, I still have trouble digesting heavy metal .....Now i have inspired by my instincts to take up the guitar which I haven learning...All said and done I believe I will have a special attachment to soul music and melodies all my life...

A fan of man u

Here i expose the feelings of a manchester united fan who is revelling in the joy of his fav team winning the champions league right after winning the EPL....the Chelsea team must be woe begone....especially after they came second to man u in both competitions....I would like to dwell on the penalty shootout that decided the match 6-5 on penalties in man u s favor after they were tied 1-1 a the end of extra time....
After losing drogba near the close of extra time for 'tapping' Nemanja vidic'...the chelsea team were at a disadvantage....The penalty shootout is the perfect example of things going upside down due to the most microscopic of misses....When Cristiano Ronaldo, the Man u talisman had his 3rd shot easily blocked by Cech, i certainly felt it would be blue in Moscow that evening...
But then if this wasnt enough The Chelsea captain John Terry came on to take the deciding penalty for his team and what do you know ,kicked slightly wide of the far post...This led to be costly as van der sar(gk for manu) brilliantly saved the anelka shot...As manu forward Ronaldo gained an enormous reprieve and buried his head in the ground in disbelief Terry was the picture of the contrary and cried on his teammates shoulders...Goes to show just how close it gets in shootouts....
Although it was unfair to chelsea to have the game decided this way..man u ceratinly deserved the victory after dominating in the first half and extra time....

blogging after a long hiatus..........(2 yrs)

well let this be the beginning to an outrageous attempt in book reviewing.....since i have regained my long lost passion this vacation let me start by reviewing the books i have read recently.....

Fountainhead:(ayn rand):Dont let the size of the book and its extremely microscopic print intimidate you....it is all the novel cover claims to be...that is a modern classic....you may not agree with all that this book says but you definitelycant ignore it....

the protagonist of this novel is Howard Roark a brilliant architect who loves his work....This fact is precisely what works against his favor in a world where misguided souls preach that selflessness is the biggest virtue....people are under the illusion that having self respect and ego is a crime and working for your your own satisfaction is a sin...They believe that they should look for others approval in all that they do and should have no aim in life other than helping the needy...In this world roark appears like a knight in shining armor...who believes that buildins should be built according to its purpose and the tenant should live up to his building....his integrity is unyielding and refuses to bend according to the wishes of his disillusioned society...

  • The other protagonists of this book are...
  • Peter keating,..who is the perfect example of the kind of person who seeks approval from others and is an architect who is least bothered about architecture,...
  • Gail wynand,..who has the right ideals but went astray in his life trying to publicize the irrelevant through his tabloid 'Banner'
  • Dominique Francon,...who loves roark but forces herself to suffer in order to gain immunity from being afraid of the world and
  • Ellsworth Toohey,..who is the villanous preacher who misguides society...

All in all a great read which forces you to think about the world we live in and importantly have we chosen a career for other s approval or for our own satisfaction
